Our Place

AHI KĀ

November 2024 marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Napier borough. We're taking time to acknowledge and celebrate our place and our people, those who came before us -  their foresight, resilience and spirit. They chose to settle here to build and grow what is now the vibrant and thriving city we call home.

Napier has a rich tapestry of heritage and, as the city commemorates this significant milestone, we are proud of a history that extends much further back than 1874. We are taking this opportunity to honour those who went before us, celebrating their strength and determination, as well as looking forward to what our thriving little city can offer now, and for generations to come.
